CMP Great Danes is located in the heart of the desert in sunny Arizona. We’ve opened our hearts and our home to quality Harlequin Great Danes bred with an emphasis on Style, Health, and Temperament.
We hope you will love our Danes as much we do.
Our family consists of Mary and me, Chris, along with our wonderful canine companions - India, Bombay, Cricket, and our most recent addition, Taj.
I’m originally from India and came to the U.S. in the 90’s. I’m a Software Engineer. I met my wife, Mary, in Arizona and we got married. I’ve loved pets since childhood and always wanted to
have a Great Dane. Mary never had any pets until we married. We got our first pet, India. She is an American Bulldog and is a very sweet girl. We then got our first Great Dane, Sir Cricket, a
harlequin, from Anne Coates. He is wonderful and has a great temperament - very mellow and calm. Our second Dane is Mr. Bombay from Dr. Bill and Dorothy La Rosa, and our third Dane, Taj Mahal, from Kathleen
Davis.
In the beginning, I had no idea how to show or how to handle show dogs. I took Cricket to the GDCAZ handling class and eventually found Ginny’s handling class (dogcommunity.net), where I learned how to
handle. I started owner-handling in 2005. In the first 12 months, I did not win any classes, but never got discouraged.
I received so much encouragement from my wife, Mary, as well as support from Great Dane Club of Arizona. Mary loves our Danes so much. She always takes care of their health needs….and, of course, she spoils them.
All of our Danes are named Indian names. Everyone thinks I pick the names, but that is not true. Mary always chooses the names. India is our only female and she is named after my homeland.
Cricket was named after the game - it’s similar to baseball. I play on a cricket league in Arizona. Bombay was named after the city in India and Taj, off course, after the Taj mahal.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to our ringside and outside supporters. I hope your support will follow us for many years to come.
